The role is based in central London, with the opportunity for flexible working or part-time working available for the right candidate.
About Barts Charity
Barts Charity's vision is extraordinary healthcare for all. They develop and fund ground-breaking medical research, state-of-the-art equipment and innovative healthcare projects not otherwise funded by the NHS. Whilst projects are based in east London, they often have national and international impact.
Their work centres around Barts Health NHS Trust (which runs St Bartholomew's, The Royal London, Mile End, Whipps Cross and Newham University Hospitals) and the Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry (part of Queen Mary University London) where there are six medical research institutes.
Every year the charity generates funds totalling £30m, which are awarded to strategically important areas for their medical partners, making the team a nationally significant healthcare funder.
About the role

You will identify opportunities to enable the fundraising team to beat its ambitious targets, cultivating financial support from philanthropists, trusts and foundations and companies. You will also lead on mapping activity around philanthropy board members and their referrals, and provide event guest lists and attendee briefings.
You will have a background in prospect research, possibly for a medical/ health charity and proven experience of undertaking research and due diligence checks. You will have the ability to develop and manage strong positive working relationships across an organisation and experience of creating and implementing a successful new system or processes around prospect research. You will be a highly professional, organised and credible individual who will prioritise leads and ensure that the Major Gift team maximise income opportunities.
