Charity People is heading up the search for an inspirational Head of Leadership Giving North who will be a key member of the Leadership & Major Gifts team, working to generate income against an ambitious annual target. A skilled communicator who is able to put others at ease, you will be responsible for leading major donor work in the North of England and Wales, an area with significant fundraising potential. This promises to be an extremely rewarding position where you contribute strategically and will manage a portfolio of prospects at a range of stages, all with the capacity to make transformational gifts.

You'll ensure the effective cultivation of prospects identified through volunteer leadership networks, existing networks of warm supporters and prospect research. You will also be able to identify opportunities for a programme of stewardship events which will discover and nurture relationships with new prospects and donors. In addition, you will work with major donor colleagues to develop solicitation plans and take a donor led approach to relationship building.

To apply for this role, you'll need to be a passionate about donor stewardship, with extensive experience within major gift fundraising including a proven track record of personally securing gifts in excess of £500,000. You'll also have experience of recruiting and leading volunteer boards; and proven experience of working successfully with wealthy and influential individuals. Skills wise, you will be highly organised and able to remain focused in a dynamic environment; you will be adaptable, flexible, and able to work under pressure; and will have outstanding communication ability.

This role involves a mix of homeworking, considerable travel across the North and regular time spent in the London office.
