The Charlie Waller Trust is a dynamic and growing mental health charity, focussed on the mental welfare and wellbeing of children and young people.Currently entering an exciting period of growth, we are recruiting for our first Head of Fundraising; this is an opportunity for someone to build and develop a fundraising strategy, successfully grow fundraising income, and lead a talented team.
As a member of the senior management team, the postholder will play a key role in our plans for the future and will be responsible for leading and inspiring the fundraising team to collectively generate the income needed to reach thousands more young people, their parents, teachers and employers.
The postholder will undertake a mix of strategic planning; leadership; and fundraising responsibilities including:
· Developing a fundraising strategy that focuses predominantly on relationship fundraising across corporate, trusts & foundations, and major giving; community & events income; as well as a fledgling direct mail programme
· Planning and making financial asks and approaches to potential donors where appropriate, in addition to working closely with the board, as well as the wider fundraising team, to ensure that all relationships are stewarded in the most effective way
· Effectively leading, inspiring and developing the fundraising team
You will have experience gained in a leadership role within a fundraising environment, with previous strategic and line management experience.You’ll have a working knowledge of a range of income streams with particular focus on relationship fundraising and an understanding of how to cultivate and maintain positive relationships with a range of individuals, companies, and institutions.
The role will suit someone looking for their first Head of Fundraising role or someone with experience already gained at senior level; most important is that you’re excited by the opportunity to play a central part in developing and growing fundraising within a charity with ambitious plans for the future.
