Proudly presenting a unique opportunity for a talented Head of Development to join the Citizen's Theatre; rooted in the heart of the Gorbals and the home of great theatre in Glasgow.

Founded in 1943 and one of Scotland's flagship producing theatres, the Citz is undergoing a £23 million major redevelopment updating its beautiful Victorian interior whilst adding a modern three-storey building to make it a fully accessible and state of the art theatre space by 2022.

As Head of Development you'll support remaining fundraising for the capital campaign with your main focus leading the creation and delivery of a new Development strategy. Working with a small, agile Development team, you'll create and embed a culture of philanthropy across the organisation; developing new relationships with supporters and providing exceptional stewardship journeys to realise long-term sustainable support.

You're an accomplished philanthropy fundraiser in your own right with significant experience of stewarding major donors. You also have a broader understanding of individual giving and the wider fundraising mix with oversight of the interplay between income streams. We're looking for a supportive leader with the imagination to galvanize people. Under your leadership, individual talent will flourish as part of a cohesive and harmonious whole.

You are confident operating at a strategic level and enjoy seeing strategy become reality. Whilst our 'wish list' would probably include experience of the Arts, we would welcome conversations with senior philanthropy applicants who can demonstrate a genuine love and appreciation of the theatre.

For now, you'll largely be based from home while building work is underway. From 2022 your base will be the "new" Citz; part of a creative hub in the heart of Glasgow, living and breathing world-class work as it develops. Soaking up the energy and excitement, you'll experience first-hand the vitality and vibrancy of creative processes at work.

We are open to conversations around flexible working in all its forms.

If you'd like to be part of narrating the next chapter for the Citizen Theatre, please get in touch with Amelia Lee or Ellen Drummond.

Please note, final deadline for applications is 4th December, but we'd love to brief you early if you are interested. Interviews to be held w/c 7th December.
