Charity People is delighted to be working in partnership with Royal Marsden Cancer Charity to find an exceptional new Head of Corporate Partnerships to join their successful fundraising team. You will be leading the corporate team and driving new business development, raising vital funds to support life-saving research, world-leading treatment and care, state-of-the-art equipment, ultimately creating partnerships that will save lives.

About the charity

The Royal Marsden is a specialist cancer hospital and research centre, ranked in the top five cancer centres in the world for the impact of their research. It is a centre of excellence with an international reputation for ground-breaking research and pioneering the very latest in cancer treatments and technologies, as well as specialising in cancer diagnosis and education.

The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity exists to raise money to support the world-leading work of the hospital and research centre.

About the role

The Head of Corporate Partnerships is a critical post within The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, with responsibility for delivering a new 3-year strategy and overseeing a shift in the way in which the charity develops corporate partnerships in order to double income over the next 3 years.

This is an opportunity for a strong and ambitious new business specialist to deliver a clearly defined strategy which includes working with and developing the charity's Corporate Advisory Group and targeting appropriate sectors and partners for the Charity. Leading a team of three, this role is part of the Philanthropy & Partnerships leadership team, with close and collaborative relationships with the Major Gifts, Events, Trusts, Prospect Research and Stewardship and Philanthropy Communications teams.

About you

You will be a strong leader and an excellent people manager with an outstanding track record of building corporate fundraising programmes and developing new business. You will be able to evidence securing new multi-year corporate partnerships of 6 figures+ and be adept at working with multiple stakeholders and influencing and negotiating. You will have a creative, resourceful and tenacious approach to developing fundraising propositions and winning new business, and be passionate about the cause and the difference funding can make. Ideally, you will have some experience of working with senior volunteers to build strategic relationships and open networks.
