Interim Director of Engagement & Fundraising
Location: London, City
Salary: £80,000 per annum
Contract: Interim 9-month maternity cover, commencing in mid-January 2021

Charity People is delighted to be working with a leading health charity to appoint an interim Director of Engagement and Fundraising for a 9-month maternity cover contract. We are seeking a highly experienced, strategic fundraising leader to help develop and deliver the charity's public-facing fundraising activity. You will also oversee the day-to-day operations of the Engagement & Fundraising function, comprising individual giving, community, events and supporter care.

To succeed in this role, you will have demonstrable experience of delivering successful individual giving programmes that have raised seven figure sums on a sustainable basis, with a strong understanding of both strategic development and operational delivery. You will also be an exceptional leader, able to quickly take up this senior leadership position and support and empower the team, fostering a positive, collaborative and friendly work environment.

You will have experience within other Director of Fundraising positions before and will understand how to effectively and quickly build relationships with external and internal stakeholders, including at a senior level within the organisation, to inspire and facilitate fundraising.

Reporting to the CEO, you will be able to quickly develop a good understanding of E&F Strategy, progress to date and key priorities for 2021 and the new strategy cycle for 2022-2027. You will be responsible for building out plans for an ambitious new Individual Giving strategy, with a focus on audience insight, donor acquisition, supporter journey development and retention to drive much greater fundraising revenues and increased supporter numbers over a three-year period. As part of this process you will be required to deliver a short review of the current landscape to assess scale of ambition and potential investment needed.
