Charity People are so thrilled to be working again with Local Trust. Over the next few years the support Local Trust provides to the communities it serves will be more important than ever - and their plan is to meet that need head on. They are looking for a new Head of Innovation and Learning to join their Partnerships and Learning team. Big Local is one of the most radical and exciting grant programmes ever launched by a major lottery funder. Between 2010 and 2012, the National Lottery Community Fund identified 150 areas that had historically missed out on lottery and other funding. Each of those areas was allocated £1m of Big Local funding. This could be spent in any way they chose, provided residents organised themselves locally to plan and manage that funding, involving the wider community in the decision-making process. The Partnerships and Learning Team is a key part of this. As Head of Innovation and Learning, you will be responsible for leading the programme of on-demand support provided by Local Trust to Big Local groups, ensuring the programme is engaging, inspiring and responsive to the needs and priorities of Big Local areas. You will be developing contacts and communication with external partners and stakeholders, and overseeing the management of delivery partner relationships. You will be a member of a team that is continually looking for new opportunities to support Big Local groups to achieve their goals and to support community-led change more broadly, experimenting with new approaches and delivering innovative partnerships and projects. You will also be line managing a team of staff who oversee the whole delivery of this support. You will have previous successful experience working closely with communities and delivering capacity-building programmes, as well as planning events and conferences and working in local, regional and national partnerships. Due to line management responsibilities, experience of managing and leading a team of staff is desirable. As well as having excellent communication skills, you will be able to think creatively and innovatively whilst managing time and priorities effectively. Excellent benefits including 10% employer contribution pension. We welcome applications from people based outside of London, who are able to work from home and visit the London office on a regular basis. I am more than pleased to recommend Glen who successfully recruited an Executive Director for us recently. He managed the process very professionally and efficiently, taking time to find out about our Charity and what we were looking for. He searched effectively and offered us a long list of highly suitable potential candidates. He helped us a great deal with process and selection and provided central London interview facilities. We are indebted to him for an intelligent, friendly, diplomatic and effective service, keeping us up to date at all times and working with us closely to completion. All in all, a very positive experience.

I have worked with Nick both in my role at King's and Tommy's. His warm and professional approach makes Nick a stand-out recruitment consultant who takes a genuine interest in matching the right candidates, with the right roles. He makes the process so much more easy and rewarding with his extensive knowledge of the charity sector and his wide network of contacts. I would highly recommend working with Nick, he has found me some of the most talented fundraising stars I've ever worked with!

I have worked with Charity People and Nick Billingham for well over ten years. Charity People have all the positive attributes of a small, family run company with all the clout & expertise of a much, much larger organisation. They are genuinely interested in both the charity and the candidates which makes a change from some other recruiters who tend to give you a block of people on their books without much thought to mix or fit. Nick is great to know and work with and takes time to get to know you and how you best work. He is always full of useful insight into the sector and trends.
