The Phorcast looks good for health care jobs

A new website has been launched dedicated to aiding those looking for recruitment in health care jobs.

Named Phorcast, it is a UK-wide portal offering information on education and career development opportunities in public health.

The site has been funded by the Department of Health for England, with additional monies from the devolved administrations of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Alan Maryon-Davis, president of the Faculty of Public Health, said: "Phorcast fills a major gap in the public health careers landscape, [with] tailored guidance to suit a wide range of backgrounds and interests at all levels of engagement in public health."

Features include a step by step guide to a career in public health, a CV advice centre and summaries of key policies and workforce roles.

The NHS announced this week that in the ten years since the implementation of a national framework for dealing with coronary heart disease, deaths from the condition have been reduced by 50 per cent.
