''Reform the care industry'' say professionals in charity jobs-Charity job News

Professionals working in charity jobs have urged the new prime minister and his aides to instigate reform in a specific industry.
Staff from Counsel and Care - an organisation providing support to elderly people and their families - say the system in the UK needs tackling urgently.
Stephen Burke, chief executive of the organisation, said: "The coalition government offers a unique opportunity to co-ordinate sweeping reform of the care system and implement system-wide changes that can last through future parliaments."
A new method of providing support and facilities to families and public sector employees should be sustainable and simple in order to provide the best outcome for those affected.
Mr Burke added that changes need to be made as soon as possible as the current procedures are not sufficient.
News of this campaign follows the announcement of the Older People in the Media Awards 2010. A ceremony celebrating positive portrayals of elderly people and their lifestyles arranged in association with Counsel and Care.
