Production of eco-buses to create more green jobs?

Those looking for green jobs might be pleased to hear the government plans to introduce a number of environmentally-friendly buses.

Some £15 million has been invested in bringing in more than 150 vehicles that emit about a third less carbon dioxide than those currently on the road.

Business minister Mark Prisk said: "By placing ourselves at the forefront of the green technology revolution we will encourage future manufacturing success, generate new jobs and [in] the long run create new export opportunities."

He added that the cash injection should boost economic growth and help the country meet its climate change targets.

A new transport system in the UK could become more responsible, as these buses use 30 per cent less fuel than their current contemporaries.

Meanwhile in Scotland, first minister Alex Salmond has announced almost £8 million will be made available for a similar scheme north of the border, according to the Scotsman.
