People working in environmental careers might be interested to note that the number of smart electricity meters used across Europe is set for a significant period of growth over the coming years. That is according to new research published today (July 26th) by Berg Insight, which has stated that the installed base of these meters will expand at a rate of 17.9 per cent to a total of more than 111 million by 2015 - which may benefit those people in green jobs. And the UK is one of three nations - along with France and Spain - where the company expects to see the next wave of installations of the products following their widespread introduction across Scandinavia and Italy. These meters are intended to give greater levels of control to customers over their energy consumption while also creating incentives to be more eco-friendly. Meanwhile, it was announced last week that a new wind farm at the Clachan Flats in Scotland could provide people seeking employment in green energy jobs with more opportunities in the foreseeable future.
