Media jobs could include work on new Guardian platform-Media jobs News
17 May 2010
Those looking for media jobs may be interested in the new Guardian platform which launches on May 20th.
Open Platform, a data and statistic-sharing idea from Guardian News and Media (GNM), will begin to allow commercial customers to use the service, reports Media Week.
The scheme allows partners to use Guardian-generated content for free for their own applications in return for advertising the Guardian.
GNM believes Open Platform has particular benefits for smaller publishers who struggle to afford to produce the content they want to provide their users.
As Open Platform expands to take on commercial partners and develop the new era ofadvertising, those looking for advertising or media jobs could find themselves working on the new platform.
GNM is the core division of the Guardian Media Group (GMG) which publishes the Guardian and the Observer newspapers as well as running the publication's website. GMG has been plagued by suspicions that theSunday Observer paper could face the chop if revenue does not pick up.
