Investment in wind energy to boost green jobs opportunities?-Green energy recruitment News
23 Jul 2010
People looking for green jobs could be pleased to hear that further investment in wind energy could provide the opportunities they are looking for.
That is if comments from Nick Medic, head of communications at RenewableUK, are anything to go by. He said the government's carbon reduction targets could be met as a result of a recent surge in wind production.
"We're looking to have jobs created by 2020 and also business opportunities and indirect jobs for local communities," he added.
What's more homeowner's energy bills could be reduced as a result of domestic resources as they are considerably cheaper than the fossil fuels currently being used.
His comments come in response to information from the European Wind Energy Association which stated 118 new offshore turbines have been connected to the UK grid so far this year.
But a lack of finances is holding back potential growth - particularly independent developers who are finding their operations "severely constrained".
