Investment in offshore wind farms could create more green energy jobs in the UK, according to one expert. Andrew Jamieson, chairman at RenewableUK, said organisations should be doing "all that is humanly possible to deliver an indigenous UK supply chain" - an act which could open up employment opportunities. The government, regulators and stakeholders are urged to boost investor confidence by making changes that open up positive results within the industry. Mr Jamieson continued by saying offshore wind farms have the potential to be more successful than their onshore counterparts and effective planning could be key to fulfilling their potential. His comments come in response to a report by the Green Investment Bank which showed debt, perceived risk, barriers to implementing new technology and finance issues have all prevented carbon targets being met. What's more, it estimated that some £550 billion is needed to create a suitable infrastructure and supply chain to facilitate the industry.People Unlimited are specialists in recruitment for Green Energy Jobs
