Health careers professionals have urged the government not to implement the Patients Rights Bill into law following the publication of an official report yesterday (November 4th).This document, which focused on the issues contained in the Patients Rights Bill, was put into the public domain by the Scottish Parliament's Health and Sport Committee and backs up the British Medical Association's (BMA) assertions about whether there is a need for the rights of patients to be legislated for.BMA Scotland feels that although patients should be at the top of the NHS's priority list, a legally binding guarantee regarding how long people would have to wait for treatment would not be beneficial to any party, including the patients themselves.Martin Woodrow, BMA Scotland secretary, commented that the organisation now wants "Parliament to reject the general principles of this Bill on the basis that it is unnecessary and could be detrimental to patient care".This comes after Dr Richard Vautrey, deputy chairman of the BMA's GPs committee, said that the gap between care offered to the rich and poor continues to widen in the UK.People Unlimited are specialists in recruitment for Health Care Jobs
