Important health care jobs could include educating young people about sexual health – and making sure the topic is not a taboo.In keeping with this, the government is to launch a campaign promoting good communication between teenagers and their parents in the hope of developing comfortable approach to sexual education.This comes after surveys carried out by Populus showed 92 per cent of people cannot name 15 contraceptive options – and one-fifth feel awkward discussing it with friends.Public health minister Gillian Merron said the first phase of the campaign, Contraception: Worth Talking About, was designed to "change attitudes" and erase embarrassment young people feel while talking about sexual health."Sex still seems to be taboo – too many of us are holding back from having the open and honest conversations that young people need to make informed decisions," she added.
