An increase in the number of green jobs as large businesses commit to a more carbon-friendly future is a "very positive step", an expert has said. The renewableenergycentre.co.uk spoke out after technology retailer Panasonic announced its intentions to become the primary environmentally-friendly electronics company, aiming to minimise carbon emissions.Conceding that while such a move was potentially excellent PR for large industry leaders, the website said that showing commitment throughout the company made it "clear" Panasonic was devoted to its green quest."It is about ensuring that the business, as well as the people in it, embraces the bigger picture of climate change and what they can do individually to help reduce the effects of it," the spokesperson added. All businesses would need to follow suit eventually, the renewablenenergycentre.co.uk concluded.Panasonic's statement said it was striving to reduce its carbon emissions by some 120 million tons - which alone made up half of its total emissions in the 2006 fiscal year.People Unlimited are specialists in recruitment for Green Jobs
