The travel industry could focus upon green jobs, one expert has suggested.Carolyn Spencer Brown, editor-in-chief of Cruise Critic, spoke out after it was announced that several European countries, including Italy, have agreed details of a green port scheme.The initiative means that ships -0 including cruise ships - will be able to connect to a grid which will feed them electric power rather than remaining motionless on fuels and generators.Ms Spencer Brown says that this technology was pioneered in Africa and she expects to see green cruises become more popular, claiming that they were "booming" before the recession hit.She adds that, as the economy recovers, more and more people will take eco-voyages as a sustainable alternative to other holidays."Eco-cruise destinations are by nature those that use small, low-impact ships that leave nary a trace on the places they visit," she explains.Larger ships do not typically offer sustainable journeys at present, she concluded.People Unlimited are specialists in recruitment for Green Jobs
