A new government forum has emphasised the importance of individuals having a "stake" in a new green economy, those in environmental jobs may be interested to read.Established in July, the Just Transition forum held its first meeting today (December 10th) to discuss the future of the green sector.The meeting, attended by members of the government and public alike, discussed ways in which to involve consumers and workers in every step of the transition to a low-carbon future.Chair and business minister Pat McFadden said the purpose of the forum was to ensure a green future was not an obscure or abstract concept but one in which citizen could see themselves to be a part of."What it can be is a huge new industrial and employment opportunity for the country, one that cherishes the planet and gives people a real stake in a greener future," he added.The chancellor of the exchequer Alistair Darling's pre-Budget report states that "climate change is the greatest long-term challenge to face the world today".People Unlimited are specialists in Green recruitment
