Good pension plans could encourage people into health care jobs-Health care recruitment News
12 Mar 2010
Bupa's pension plan was recognised for its success at a ceremony held on Wednesday and such schemes could encourage more people into health care jobs.
The Pension Mark Award was given to three firms - including the private sector medical company - at the National Association of Pension Funds' Investment Conference.
Awards are given to schemes meeting certain criteria on contributions and communications, while recognising several other factors.
Ian Farrimond, accountant for the Bupa pension scheme, said: "Giving our employees confidence in the pension we offer is vital to us and the PQM [Pension Quality Mark] allows us to quickly and easily demonstrate how good our scheme is."
Other firms to achieve success at the event were Gallagher and Experian.
Tom McPhail, head of pensions research at Hargreaves Lansdown, said good pension schemes were an excellent way of recruiting new employees in to a business. He added the funding rate was the crucial element in the validity of any offering.
