15 Oct 2009
People looking for arts jobs may be interested in an annual festival in Kent.
Featuring 200 events in theatre, dance, comedy and classical music, the Canterbury Festival presents a chance for people to get involved in the artistic activity.
Various open house events could offer the right opportunity to rub shoulders with those in the creative world, while a number of literature events include a talk by the first female Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy on October 28th.
Comedy acts come in the form of Alistair McGowan, Reginald D Hunter and Julian Clary.
A number of exhibitions may appeal to those with a passion for visual art including selections of contemporary and local works.
Elsewhere, Canterbury cathedral could attract literature lovers who are familiar with the work of Geoffrey Chaucer.
Here, the huge structure will offer "a glorious setting for many of the classical music highlights" during the festival, according to the city's official tourism website.
The event runs between October 17th and 31st.
