Increased funding for voluntary organisations could be good news for those pursuing charity careers, if an expert's comments are anything to go by.
Phil Perry, director of Ark Financial Planning, suggested that businesses would willingly donate money to charitable institutions if the conditions were right.
He said: "People would much rather pay to a charity than they would to the tax man."
Regarding a new guide that outlines the tax advantages to companies that donate to such causes, Mr Perry added: "If it is making them aware of something that they can or can't do, then there has to be a benefit behind it."
As such, people who are seeking to build charity careers may welcome any imperative for private organisations to part with their surplus capital.
Furthermore, minister for the Cabinet Office Tessa Jowell remarked that the partnership between businesses and charities could be mutually beneficial in terms of knowledge exchange.
