Environmental careers can help businesses meet targets-Environmental Careers News
19 Nov 2009
Those who want to pursue rewarding environmental careers may agree with the remarks of a correspondent, who suggested that more can be done to raise awareness regarding eco-efficiency.
Rob Holdway, presenter of Channel 4's Dumped, outlined the vital areas where businesses need to improve their relationship with the environment.
He said: "The main thing of course is raising awareness amongst small businesses
the water, the energy and the waste that you generate has a direct cost straight off the bottom line."
Additionally, Mr Holdway asserted that extra efforts could be made to ensure that more workers recycle while on duty.
Individuals who highlight the cost-effectiveness of cutting energy wastage would be making a valuable contribution towards the UK's climate targets, he hinted.
The comments follow research by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, which revealed that 40 per cent of people recycle plastics at home but not in the workplace.
