People in charity jobs may have to be more supportive of patients who are suffering from obesity problems, an expert has said.
In news that may also interest seekers of charity recruitment opportunities, Susannah Gilbert, of support website Big Matters, has said that a helpful and caring approach to aiding people with their weight loss programmes could be the best approach to take in order for them to experience their desired results.
Recently, England's public health minister Anne Milton told the BBC that doctors should tell such patients that they are fat rather than obese as this is more likely to motivate them into shedding the pounds.
She added that people must take "personal responsibility" for their lifestyles.
However, according to Ms Gilbert, what is really needed is a "nationwide standard for the support individuals are given", as unless positivity is offered throughout a person's whole weight loss journey, they are unlikely to succeed in their aims.
