Rewarding charity jobs can be a great way to help those affected by Leukaemia, with a number of organisations dedicating themselves to tackling the condition.
Andrea Stylianou, charity coordinator at the Leukaemia Society, welcomed news that a new drug could help those with the illness, adding: "It seems very promising."
She went on to say: "If they have found this and it has the potential for treating people that did not have that opportunity before then that in itself is fantastic."
The remarks follow news that scientists from Trinity College Dublin have apparently reached a breakthrough in treating the form of cancer.
Specifically, the PBOX-15 drug can destroy affected cells and improve the prospects of adult patients.
People on the lookout for charity jobs may be impressed by the work of such researchers and voluntary organisations.
The severity of the condition is highlighted by recent statistics from Cancer Research UK, which found that 4,350 people in the UK died from Leukaemia in 2007.
