Upcoming care jobs may include providing personalised support to cancer survivors, Ann Keen has announced.The health minister was speaking as details of the National Cancer Survivorship Initiative were published.This comes after a survey of adult cancer patients carried out by the Pickler Foundation found that nearly half wished they had access to more advice and support.Now it is intended that cancer survivors will have a long-term care plan laid out for them as well as plenty of information about what to expect and access to care for the aftermath of treatment.Ms Keen said the department of health and MacMillan Cancer Trust had teamed up to support the scheme, which is a natural progression after better treatment resulting in higher survival rates."The impact of cancer does not end after treatment.
