Arts jobs in Worcestershire to receive funding-Arts recruitment News
30 Mar 2010
Worcestershire County Council has announced a new round of funding to be made available to those working in arts jobs in the county.
Through this latest round of funding from the county council, some £90,000 is to be made available to 22 projects and venues across the county.
In addition to money being made available to major arts organisations, the money is also being earmarked for smaller groups and venues, some of which support only a handful of arts jobs, with the Number 8 Arts Centre among those set to benefit.
The Pershore venue has been awarded a grant of £5,000, with this to be put towards its work, which the council has deemed to play a significant role in the cultural life of Worcestershire.
As well as serving as an independent cinema, Number 8 also hosts regular plays, operas and live music events, while serving as a community centre offering classes and courses in a range of arts and leisure activities.
