We have a wonderful opportunity for a Philanthropy Manager to join one of the UK’s biggest national children’s charities as part of their highly successful Regional Major Donor team; securing the support of major donors and those with the capacity to give philanthropically across the North West, Cumbria, Yorkshire and Humber Region. This is a 12 month fixed term contract to cover maternity.
This is a Home based job within the North of England, within easy reach of the conurbations of Manchester, Liverpool or Leeds and requiring the ability to travel throughout the region.
With the current post-holder due to start maternity leave in the summer, a rare opportunity has arisen to join a dynamic team of high value donor fundraisers, responsible for raising the millions of pounds needed to fund their plight.
The Philanthropy team is part of the Major Donors department. The department focus upon high level, individual donors and are responsible for securing major gifts with a strategic focus on £100,000 through to £1,000,000 and beyond. Success is founded upon our commitment to building strong and enduring relationships between the charity and those with the capacity to make transformational gifts.
You will manage relationships with key individual major donors, some of the wealthiest people in the country, and be responsible for generating new prospects and making asks for substantial financial gifts. This varied post involves close collaboration with a broad range of internal colleagues at all levels and external stakeholders. You will also contribute to significant national and regional events and other fundraising initiatives in line with the charity's values.

Above all, you will relish getting out, meeting your prospects and making the ask.
Experience of working with high value donors (particularly individuals) or clients, and proven success in achieving financial targets are highly desirable.
This role is primarily home based with travel across the patch in particular around Manchester, Liverpool, and Leeds. As well as being home based they are very open to conversations around flexible working. There is an opportunity to discuss the salary for candidates coming with significant Major Gifts experience so please do give us a call to discuss options. This type of role rarely becomes available outside London, so this is a great opportunity for the right candidate, for whom we will consider flexible working arrangements
