CHUF’s mission is to make life better for children and young people who are born with or develop heart conditions by providing lifelong support to them and their families.

This mission is achieved by supporting the Children’s Heart Unit at Freeman Hospital and the six district hospitals across the North East of England. Raising vital funds for large and small pieces of equipment, facilities, aftercare, salaries and research. The Heart Unit at the Freeman treats over four thousand patients each year from all over the UK. It is one of only two children’s heart transplant units and is the only unit capable of providing all the services that might be necessary from diagnosis to closing holes in the heart or heart transplantation - regardless of whether it is an unborn baby, a child or an adult who was born with heart disease. Their aim is to help where the NHS can’t and to assist the children and their families from the moment they need the specialist care.

Charity People are thrilled to be partnering with CHUF to help them find their new Corporate & Events Fundraising Manager. The CHUF fundraising team provides practical help, working in partnership with many individual and corporate supporters, to maximise fundraising at their events which include family days out, cycle, swimming and running challenges. In addition, CHUF has its own organised events (Children’s Christmas Party and Children’s Toddle) which not only raise funds but allows families to meet together, and enjoy themselves.

The Corporate & Events Fundraising Manager will plan and deliver current CHUF events and will also provide relevant support to current supporters across their own events in order to maximise funds raised. This is a really exciting and diverse role and alongside event management this role will manage and develop income from Corporate Partnerships and campaigns.

We are looking for someone with first class relationship development experience, someone with a track record of fundraising ideally in the development of corporate partnerships and with ability to work closely with major donors and patrons. We need someone who has a strong track record of developing and managing a wide variety of events from small scale community through to mass participation.

This is such a wonderful opportunity not only to join the successful fundraising team of one of the North East’s most popular charities but also such a great chance to develop and hone your line management experience. The Senior Fundraising Manager works 4 days and this role will support and manage the team in her absence. The CHUF fundraising team is really warm and supportive and they are excited to welcome another superstar fundraiser into the organisation.

This role is permanent and full time but we are very happy to discuss flexible working.
