Senior Programme Coordinator
£34k– £38k
Community Charity
Flexible Location - London, Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, Newcastle

We are delighted to be collaborating with Local Trust to recruit a Senior Programme Coordinator who will be responsible for delivering, managing and monitoring the Big Local Programme, working with the Head of Area Support and Head of Programme Delivery to ensure its successful delivery.

Local Trust was established in 2012 to deliver Big Local, a Big Lottery funded programme which committed £150m to 150 local areas in England.

Big Local was designed to be radically different from the outset. Built around a vision of empowered, resilient, dynamic, asset-rich, resident-led communities, rather than conventional top down, time-limited, project-led funding, the £1m awarded to each Big Local area can be spent over 10-15 years by local residents on the basis of their own plans and priorities.

In terms of scale, timescale and ethos, nothing like Big Local has ever existed. Its ambition extends well beyond simply providing grant money to enable activity to take place on the ground. We want Big Local to leave a wider legacy.

In its first five years, Local Trust has supported residents to form partnerships, develop and consult on plans and priorities and work with local organisations to deliver these plans. Increasingly, now, we are releasing funds to local communities to support delivery of an incredible range of locally-led initiative and ambition.

The Charity is now into its sixth year of delivering Big Local and this is a period of intense and exciting activity. Specifically, the role will be responsible for developing and managing relationships with a range of stakeholders, including partner organisations and consultants, that work to support and build capacity within the resident-led partnerships. You will also have the opportunity to feed in to the development of Big Local communication and dissemination strategies and contacts and maintain communication with those we fund giving appropriate support and guidance.

A successful candidate will have experience of working on large, complex community funding programmes, and in carrying out assessments on funding proposals or tenders, including due diligence on organisations. They will have excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain and develop appropriate databases and programme systems to ensure effective monitoring and reporting criteria.

Closing Date of Wednesday 19th December at 9am with interviews taking place on 8th and 9th January.
