1990 - People Unlimited started life as Charity People,
operating from a small south London
base, with a grant from The Prince's Youth Business
Trust and the London Enterprise Agency. It's aims were (and still
are) to promote the sector as a great place to work,
to attract the most talented and committed
candidates, and to help not for profits recruit more
effectively.
Within it's first year Charity People was providing
recruitment advertising and support to ChildLine and
Amnesty International and within three years had
launched the first dedicated recruitment advertising
agency for the not for profit sector, as well as
providing a range of traditional recruitment
services.
1995 - Charity People launched its first website.
1996 - Charity People opened up a regional office in Leeds to supplement its London base.
2000 - the business floated its Recruitment Advertising
business off to a joint venture, called People Media
which quickly grew into a highly successful
advertising and response handling business.
2001 - Charity People launched forum3
- the sector's first ever recruitment and volunteering event,
dedicated to opening up the sector to an entirely
new audience.
2006 - we changed our name to People Unlimited and
now provide a whole range of recruitment services
to charities, arts and media, health and social care,
housing and green sector organisations.
The business is still run by its original founder, David
Lale, with many of the senior staff team having been
in the business for over 15 years.
We like to think our blend of experience, stability and
innovation is unusual in a recruitment
business and that our commitment to the sector is
the reason behind this.
What we do
At heart, we're a recruitment
business. We help our clients plan
and fulfil their staffing needs in the most cost
effective and efficient way. With a live database of over 30,000 people looking to work with
value-led organisations, we're equally well placed
to identify hard-to-find specialists or recruit
large numbers of staff through national or
international recruitment campaigns.
Our
wider purpose is to try and raise the profile of the
sector as a great place to work, through events like
forum3 and our Positive Change events programme.
We focus on five key sectors:
- Charities and fundraising
- Health and social care
- Housing
- Arts and media
- Green sector
