Mencap has been in operation since 1946 and as the leading provider of specialist
services for people with a learning disability, Mencap has a reputation for both

What Mencap Does
Mencap provides support and services in a number of ways, including:
Education and learning
Mencap offers education and learning services support to people with a learning
disability, including three national colleges which offer residential and day courses.
Housing
Mencap provides housing support that is individually tailored to meet specific needs.
This includes Accommodation Finder, Adult Placements and Golden Lane Housing.
Support
Mencap's support services are about helping people with a learning disability to
live their life, make choices and be happy.
Jobs and training
Mencap support people with a learning disability to find, and stay, in employment,
and to make the most of their experiences as employees.
Leisure
Mencap's provides leisure opportunities for young people and adults with a learning
disability.
Mencap Sport
Mencap Active focuses on developing practical and social skills based around activities
that people choose themselves, from music and drama to gaining new qualifications.

Our Relationship with Mencap
Charity People have been recruiting permanent and temporary staff for Mencap since
