We're supporting Better Bankside's 'Together at Christmas' appeal

The Charity People team have been out in force today helping to spread some Christmas cheer by wrapping presents for Better Bankside's annual winter appeal 'Together at Christmas'

The 'Together at Christmas' appeal encourages local businesses to fill a large box full of gifts for homeless or vulnerable housed people in the local area. The gifts, which are often items we take for granted such as toiletries or warm clothes often make a huge difference to those who receive them who may otherwise receive nothing.

Last year over 1800 gifts were collected, wrapped and handed out locally and this year Better Bankside are hoping to increase that number further.

Together at Christmas helps to give a hand up to homeless and vulnerable people through the following local projects:

  1. The Manna Centre - Southwark's only drop in day centre

  2. St Mungo's

  3. Robes Project winter night shelters

  4. Gateway Foyer accommodation for 16-24 year olds

  5. Manor Place women's hostel

  6. David Barker House

  7. Look Ahead Southwark Bridge Road and New Kent Road

  8. Grange Road Look Ahead hostel

Together at Christmas is supported by Zipcar for Business
