Client of the month - Blind Veterans UK
Blind Veterans UK is the national charity for blind and vision-impaired ex-Service men and women. Founded in 1915 and previously known as St Dunstan’s, Blind Veterans UK provides veterans with the services and lifelong support they need to discover life beyond sight loss.
Blind Veterans UK supports veterans no matter what has caused their sight loss, be it due to accident, old age or illness. We provide veterans with the rehabilitation, support, training and recreational opportunities they need to regain their independence and lead full lives. Our services are provided by our three centres (in Brighton, Llandudno and Sheffield) and our UK-wide network of welfare officers.
At Blind Veterans UK, we believe that no one who has Served our country should have to battle blindness alone.
No One Alone campaign
With its No One Alone campaign, Blind Veterans UK is reaching out to vision-impaired veterans who are entitled to the charity's free services and support, but have not yet registered for it.
Independent research suggests there are thousands of ex-Service men and women who have yet to benefit from Blind Veterans UK's help and support. Blind Veterans UK supports ex-Service men and women - including National Service veterans - no matter what the cause of their sight loss, be it accident, illness or a medical condition such as macular degeneration.
If you know an ex-Service man or woman who is battling blindness or severe sight loss, refer them to Blind Veterans UK. Call us today on 0800 389 7979 or visit www.noonealone.org.uk
