Charity People was proud to sponsor the Pitch Perfect event at the Institute of Fundraising Convention again this year with a £1,000 donation to the winning cause.

Pitch Perfect challenges 4 charities to pitch each other's cause for the glory of a trophy for the winning team and a £1,000 donation for the cause they successfully pitch. It gives the audience a chance to see how some of the biggest charities are winning corporate partnerships without revealing any trade secrets and is organised by IPF Convention Chair Liz Monks.

This year saw teams from Cancer Research UK, Demelza Hospice Care for Children, Diabetes UK and Macmillan Cancer Support bravely take to the stage in front of an audience of their peers. The mixture of approaches was fantastic and all teams did very well but Macmillan's team made a very tailored and focused 'Charity of the Year' pitch to Deloitte and were voted the winners by the audience.

This year's event was held in memory of the late Jane Bardsley who was part of the winning team from Battersea Dogs; Cats Home last year and sadly passed away earlier this year. Her friend and colleague Liz Tait gave a lovely speech about Jane and talked about her passion for fundraising and the impact she made.

Our Fundraising team were on hand to answer questions during the course of the Convention. You can find out more about the team, which includes an International Development specialist and a former Fundraising Director here.
