Fundraising - a new way of working

We have an unrivalled team when it comes to fundraising. Nick Billingham outlines how the team is reorganising to become even better.

Our Team

Everyone’s favourite war time politician Winston Churchill once said: “To improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often” which is resonating with me here at Charity People HQ. As a Fundraising recruitment team, last year was our most successful ever and we placed more people into Fundraising roles than ever before and yet we all have a desire to be, and do better.

And so we are making some changes. Rather than one consultant managing a group of clients and all of their fundraising vacancies we are becoming more specialist. Going forwards, for our London based clients, team members will focus on recruiting for one particular income stream. The aim is that they will become even more of an expert in their dedicated income stream; developing stronger and deeper relationships with relevant contacts.

I wanted to take this opportunity to outline who is doing what and introduce you to the London team.

Alice Wood

Alice Wood - Corporate Fundraising

I joined Charity People in January to specialise in recruiting for Corporate Fundraising roles, and am our resident expert for account management and new business positions all the way up to, and including Head of level. After eight years spent recruiting for fundraising roles I realised I’m most passionate about corporate partnerships as I think the way charity and corporate worlds work together is so interesting!

This is such an exciting area of fundraising and I’m really keen to support wherever I can. I’ve got really established networks, and am approachable and friendly! I truly love working with fundraisers to match them to exciting roles, with fantastic charities, where they can progress their careers.

Stuart Milliner - Trust Fundraising Specialist

Attention to detail is one thing that is super important to me. So when it came to deciding which income stream I would like to recruit for, it was a no brainer. The best Trust Fundraisers have a keen eye for detail, write with flair and creativity which makes my job much more enjoyable when I am reading supporting statements day in day out.

I have a strong track record in recruiting for roles in this area so if you’re looking for a new role or looking for a new team member then, "Hello!" Please do get in touch with me and I’d be happy to meet for a coffee and we can explore how we can work together from there.

Anna Ludeman

Anna Ludeman - Major Donor Specialist

Major Gift Fundraisers have always been tricky to find and we often hear that our clients have been pulling their hair out trying to recruit fab people into their teams. I have really enjoyed working closely with charities over the years to help them to find Fundraisers where the usual recruitment routes have failed. It seems I have a bit of a knack for finding Major Donor Fundraisers and I’ve successfully recruited candidates into organisations such as Macmillan, WWF, The Tusk Trust and The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity just to name a few.

With this new way of working I am so excited to become the Major Gifts specialist. We hope that this is good news for our clients and candidates out there as we become even more knowledgeable about our chosen areas and get to know our candidates even better
